A Bloomberg Politics national poll released on Wednesday showed that Vice President Joe Biden has overtaken Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as the second choice for Democrats in the 2016 presidential election.

While Hillary Clinton is still the favorite, her numbers have slipped to 33 percent. Biden is just eight points behind with 25 percent and Sanders has 24 percent.

Clinton’s favorability among Democrats has also fallen, one in four Democrats now have an unfavorable opinion of the former first lady, a number far too high if they were to abandon her on Election Day 2016.

Biden is rumored to be announcing a run in mid-October right after the Democratic debate.

The poll was conducted among 375 Democrats and Democratic leaners and had a 5.1 percentage point margin of error.
